MailChimp FAQ

I forgot my username or password.

See MailChimp Basics Part 1, section 1.2.3 Forgot username or password?

Can I skip using MailChimp, and just send out bulk emails from my own email?

Yes and no. You can do this, but almost all email providers put a limitation on how many names you can mail to, and how often. If they warn you about having exceeded their limits, they can put a hold on all your email, based on their policy. Also, email services monitor received emails to guard against spam (junk mail). There are a number of things they look for in emails to determine whether or not the email is spam. Services like MailChimp meet the requirements for bulk-mailings, giving a greater assurance that emails are not flagged as spam by recipient email providers.

Will a received email look like it came from me, or from Project Onward?

From Project Onward. Your personal email address does not get involved.

Can I control the subject line of a mailing?

Yes, including the use of emoji’s, as well as much other formatting information.

I want to go to the beginning (home) or start over with MailChimp. How do I do this?

No matter what you are doing in MailChimp, you can always click on the monkey (upper-left) to go back to the beginning or home. It may ask you to save something first, if you were in the middle of editing, so that you do not lose your changes. If it does not ask you to save, your changes are already saved.

Can I change the email address of a current subscriber?

Yes. See MailChimp Basics Part 1, section 2.2.3  “View or Update information for a current subscriber."

When I login to MailChimp, I don’t see the Project Onward email list.

You probably logged into the wrong MailChimp account. Make sure the company name is “POJewelBox.” (See MailChimp Basics Part 1, section 1.2.4 “You’re in!).
